DRYNOX® dry disconnect couplings are thermoplastic quick-connect couplings that set new standards for use with IBC containers and in chemical applications.
The flexibly combinable coupling system enables quick, drip-free connection and disconnection under high safety requirements and demanding environmental conditions.
Design variants
Male part with DRYNOX® coupling plug: IBC connections S60x6, S75x6, S80x8, S100x8 as well as threaded connections (internal thread) 1/2″ to 1″.
Female part with DRYNOX® coupling socket: threaded connections (internal thread) 1/2″ to 1″, nozzle for butt and IR welding, hose nozzle.
Materials: PP grey, PE black, PP-n natural, PVDF, PE-el (electrically conductive). Other materials such as ETFE available on request.
Spring materials: 1.4310, Hastelloy, plastic (PEI) for metal-free applications as well as version made of SST / E-CTFE-coated.
Seals: EPDM, FPM or FFKM.

High application flexibility
The DRYNOX® dry disconnect coupling consists of a male part with a coupling plug and a female part with a coupling socket.
The male and female parts are available separately. This allows applications to be configured and expanded as needed.

DRYNOX® dry disconnect couplings are available in three basic configurations: with threaded connections; with an IBC connection (male part) and a spigot for butt fusion and IR welding (female part); and with an IBC connection and hose barb. All connections are available in various sizes. Product examples shown in PP. Additional materials: PE, PVDF, and PE-el (electrically conductive). ETFE and other materials are available upon request.

Recommended solution for IBC containers
Dry disconnect couplings are the recommended solution for filling and emptying IBC containers. In a joint research project by the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) and the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the raw materials and chemical industry (BG RCI), protection guidelines for activities involving hazardous substances were developed.
In Protection Guideline 308 “Filling and emptying of IBC containers (liquids)”, a permanently assigned connection device is recommended, preferably a dry coupling. With the DRYNOX® dry disconnect couplings made of thermoplastic plastic, this recommendation can be implemented in a practical way for numerous media and application ranges:
Chemicals: resistant to almost all chemicals.
Paints and coatings: suitable for solvent-containing media.
ATEX / hazardous areas: electrically conductive, chemically resistant and food-grade compliant.
Food: all materials used are food-grade compliant.
